Maplewood Opens Warming Stations for Extreme Cold

Warming stations are open around Maplewood for extreme cold.

The Township of Maplewood is opening warming sites where residents can escape the cold and unthaw.

All of New Jersey is in single digits, according to an nj.com report.

Town Hall will open at 9 a.m., the Baker Street Library at 10 a.m., the Hilton Library starting at noon, and the Community Center on Burnett Ave. starting at 9:00 a.m.

"Residents are advised to take steps to protect themselves and children from extreme cold and wind," the Township stated on its website. "Wear multi layers of clothing and cover up bare skin when going outside."

"This is also a good day to check on elderly or disabled neighbors to see if they are in need of heat," they added.
