South Orange Remembers 9/11

South Orange Village will hold a ceremony to remember the three South Orange residents who were killed in the Sept. 11 attacks on the World Trade Center.

The Township of South Orange Village will hold a memorial ceremony in observance of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

The memorial will be held at 8:30 a.m. at the South Orange Fire Department, located at 56 Sloan Street.

“This ceremony will pay tribute to all of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C., on Sept. 11, 2001, with a special emphasis on first responders and the 3 victims from South Orange Village whose names are etched on a plaque at the September 11th memorial in front of SOPAC,” the Village stated on its website.

South Orange residents Christopher Colasanti, Christopher Faughnan and Donald Robertson were killed in the World Trade Center attacks.

In attendance will be Village President Alex Torpey, Board of Trustees, the South Orange Fire and Police Departments and the South Orange Rescue Squad. Everyone is welcome.
