Art & Music Reception 2013 Kickoff
Maplewood Library kicks off 2013 with our first Art & Music reception of the year.
Art and Music Reception
Maplewood Library is happy to be featuring the outstanding art of two Maplewood residents this month.
On our walls are Paul Gibson's photographs. Harnessing principles of lighting, composition, contrast, and dynamic movement honed in his 30 year career in film & video, Paul peers into the breathtaking beauty of nature to create images that have been variously described as “painterly,” "dreamy," "ethereal," "serene," - images which are a uniquely personal artistic vision.

In our display case are Suzanne Henning’s prints on handmade paper. Suzanne sees beauty in the smallest of details in nature and in everyday man-made objects. The contrast and visual balance between coarse industrial designs and intricacies of the natural world appeal to her and play out in her work. It is the small beautiful detail or moment that she brings to our attention to enjoy. She makes her own paper by hand to add a warmth and texture to her work.
Music will be provided by John Straus and friends, and refreshments will be provided.
