The library hosted a Stuffed Animal Sleepover for children and their stuffed animals on Monday. On Tuesday, Julie Pauly taught 30 children the art of cupcake decorating.

Tonight, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m. the library will host a Summer Art and Music reception in conjunction with its July and August exhibits of two Maplewood artists: sculptor , creator of the annual July 4th townwide art project, and acclaimed fine arts photographer . Columbia High School student Rueben Morris will play the harp, and both artists will discuss their work.

"I'm very happy to have my work up in my local library," said Yagid. "Maplewood's libraries are a great asset to the town and are so much more and well beyond being just about books."

On Friday, Aug. 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 4 p.m., it's the "Dream Big" Summer Reading Club Finale. The library invites children of all ages to drop in during the day for a maze, obstacle course, face painting, games and prizes.
