The Mungers at HighlandPlace

A mixed-up, mashup of classic sounds and 80s-inspired guilty pleasures.

Saturday night isn't so sleepy in the suburbs any more.

At HighlandPlace, the craziest night of the week has been hopping for some time. This week, owner Chris Farrow welcomes The Mungers — "a very hooky, fun original band," says Farrow, "influenced heavily by the great pop and guitar-pop music of the 70s and 80s."

Farrow promises you'll hear Beatles, The Knack and Cheap Trick (now there's a crazy combination) in a lot of their music.

The Mungers, 8 p.m., Saturday, May 21, in the back room at HighlandPlace, Maplewood.

Don't forget you'll also get chance to to hear Maplewood's own - Rich Maloof on acoustic guitar between sets of the Mungers!
