The 5th Annual Maplewood Village Chocolate Walk is Saturday, Feb. 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., just in time for Valentine's Day.
It's the perfect opportunity to shop for your Valentine(s) while sampling goodies from local shops. Visitors need only follow the red balloons from shop to shop. The event is sponsored by the Maplewood Village Alliance and local merchants.
In the past, shops have offered such tantalizing treats as a Chocolate Fountain with sugar cookies for dipping, Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Valentine's Day cookies from Able Baker.
Here are a few things to look forward to this year:
Hopscotch at Home will offer a 20% off sale in addition to sweet treats
Highland Place/Crane's will be offering a free drink (House Wine or Bottled, Domestic Beer) to anyone who shows a receipt from a participating merchant that day and will offer a Chocolate Martini Special.
The Tenth Muse Gallery will be giving away a chocolate truffle with a minimum purchase (call store for details).
Participating Chocolate Walk businesses include Alchemy Hour, Bee & Thistle, Highland Place/Cranes, Hopscotch, KoKoRo, Little One & Co, Maplewood Theater, No 165, Olive & Lizzy, Perch Home, Village Trattoria, Village Wine Shop, Scrivener’s Toys & Collectibles, The Able Baker, Words Bookstore, Jerry Rose Floral Design, Lotus Petals Floral Design, Shed, The Tenth Muse Gallery, Village Dance Academy and Maplewood Karate Baker Street Dojo.
