Furniture and Accessory Shop to Open in Maplewood Village

Madeline Moss, which also has a store in Westfield, will take over the former Olive & Lizzy space.

Madeline Moss, a retail furniture and accessory store, is set to move into the former Olive & Lizzy space at the corner of Maplewood Avenue and Inwood Place in Maplewood Village.

“I am very excited about coming to Maplewood,” said owner Margaret McHenry, who has owned Madeline Moss in Westfield, NJ since 2010. McHenry described the shop as casual yet sophisticated, with designers on staff and particular attention to customer service.

The store will open sometime in August.

“We truly love helping our customers create their dream rooms,” said McHenry.  “We can chat with customers in our store about their rooms and colors or we can visit their homes for consultations or full design services.  But it is a store and we are happiest when our customers drop in often to see what’s new.”

McHenry carries the Lee Industries upholstery line, which she said are moderately priced and made from real wood, coil springs and fine fabrics. The store will also feature Hickory Chair, a line of fine upholstered pieces and wood and metal case goods and tables. “My companies are green and environmentally minded,” said McHenry.

The shop will also offer lamps, chandeliers, tables, art by local talented artists, accessories, rugs and bedding, and will design and install custom window treatments.

“We are a small store, which works to our benefit,” said McHenry, who said they will display best-selling pieces on the floor (and sell floor models at good prices) and will also help customers select pieces from company catalogues.

“Our customers like our style and like to shop with us for a single piece or a finished room,” she said.
