PHOTOS: Weekend in Maplewood Village

An art reception, locally grown specials and new businesses.

 

Maplewood Village was buzzing with activity this weekend, as people were out to shop, dine and gather to mark the beginning of the fall season.

held a Trunk Show and Wine Reception to highlight the work of artist Tara O’Leary, and Andrea Panico of Pico Jewelry Design. Customers browsed -- and bought -- jewelry and watercolors, while sipping wine and mingling.

Across the street, was buzzing as always. Patch got to sample a current special, the Heirloom Tomato Salad, which tastes as incredible as it looks. Get it before tomato season comes to a close. Owner Luke Finn said to look for more locally grown and produced food coming up on the restaurant's menu.

On the corner of Maplewood Avenue and Inwood Place,  is close to opening but has already been attracting a steady stream of window shoppers admiring the displays of funky, fresh clothes and accessories.

On Saturday, village officials attended a ribbon cutting ceremony for Click! Tutoring and Learning Center at 168 Maplewood Village. Patch will have more on the new business coming up.
