The GenWealth Group Announces Participation in Seton Hall's Student-Athlete Mentoring Program

Maplewood, NJ – March 18, 2014 – The GenWealth Group, an independent wealth management firm, announced today that Cherie Leanza, Vice President, Marketing, will participate in Seton Hall University’s Student-Athlete Mentoring Program. The mentorship program was launched with the vision of leveraging the expertise of successful alumni and fostering new relationships with Seton Hall’s graduating student-athletes.

With the support of Bryan Felt, Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs, the program now serves as a key component to the Athletic Department’s newly formed initiative, The H.A.L.L. Program (Helping Athletes Learn to be Leaders), which is guided by Roberto Sasso, Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development and Leadership. The program pairs student-athletes with alumni mentors in their given field of study to help prepare the next generation of Pirates for professional success by fostering a strong sense of community between alumni and current students.

As a mentor, Cherie will meet with her student at least four times throughout the spring semester. The relationship will provide Cherie’s mentee with initial career advice, resume review, interview preparation and overall communication about life aspirations.

“This program is a great opportunity to give back to my alma mater. I’m excited to establish this mentorship and serve as a resource for The H.A.L.L. Program,” said Cherie. Cherie holds an MHA in Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall and after 20 years in the pharmaceutical industry, transferred her skills to the world of finance by launching The GenWealth Group with her husband Michael.
