Today's the day.
One of the most hotly contested Board of Education contests in years comes to a conclusion today as local voters head for the polls to choose three of the six candidates for the South Orange-Maplewood Board of Education.

Polls are open from 2 to 9 p.m.
The candidates are running on slates together, but voters can choose whomever they like (say, splitting their vote across the two "tickets").
Incumbent Wayne Eastman (on the BOE since 2006) is running with newcomers Madhu Pai and Jeff Bennett.
Incumbent Jennifer Payne Parrish (also on the BOE since 2006) is running with newcomers Amy Higer and Karen (Tia) Swanson.
