GenWealth Joins in Jersey Cares Coat Drive

Maplewood business is collection site for annual donation drive; in the wake of the storm, even more New Jerseans could use a warm coat.

The GenWealth Group in Maplewood Village is participating in the Annual Jersey Cares Coat Drive, which runs through December 15.

The goal of the coat drive is to collect and distribute 50,000 "gently used" winter coats to at-risk men, women and children. Over the past sixteen years, Jersey Cares has collected, sorted and distributed hundreds of thousands of winter coats to New Jersey residents in need.

As it did last year, GenWealth is serving as a coat collection site. The company's employees will sort and transport all coats they collect to those in need this holiday.

“The Jersey Cares Coat drive helps put a warm coat around New Jerseans in need," said Cherie Leanza, Vice President of GenWealth. "It’s especially important this year as our state recovers from the devastating hurricane.  More people will need a warm coat this year, more than ever."

To participate, donate clean, gently used coats for men, women and children to The GenWealth Group's office at 6 Inwood Place in Maplewood Village, from Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Coats can be dropped off in the lobby bin.

"It’s a great way to clear out the clutter and help someone in need all at the same time," said Leanza. "The response has been wonderful so far and every day, more coats are dropped in our bin."
