MSNBC Visits Maplewood Village

Downtown will be profiled on "Your Business" this Sunday.

Maplewoodians always knew the Village exemplified the spirit of Main Street America. Now the rest of America will find out.

MSNBC's "Your Business" program will feature Maplewood in a special Small Business Saturday segment that airs this Sunday, Nov. 18, at 7:30 a.m.

The visit came about when the show's producers remembered Maplewood from a story they had done on Words Bookstore two years ago.

"They asked me to suggest some other merchants to interview, and they then selected a number of participants from the stores that I described to them," said Words owner Jonah Zimiles.

Hosted by JJ Ramberg, "Your Business" focuses on the world of America's small business entrepreneurs, featuring profiles, news, advice and tips.

"We are very excited to see the show," said Zimiles.

Also interviewed were Peggy Stone at Lotus Petals, Janean Harvey of Alchemy Hour, Cindy Potters of Shed and Julie Pauly of Able Baker. The producers videotaped scenes throughout the Village.
