Photo of the Day: Memorial Park, Shrouded in Fog

A foggy February day gives an eerie air to Maplewood.

Monday morning brought a blanket of fog to Maplewood. With the thick covering of snow still on the ground, the fog lent a spectral, almost cinematic air to town.

In this photo of Memorial Park, looking northeast through the trees, Maplewood Town Hall is a barely visible, ghostly presence in the background.

Tuesday's weather forecast calls for clear, sunny skies and temperatures in the low to mid 40s.

Why did Maplewood Parks on Valley Street and Springfield Avenue stop turning the parks into ice rinks? Maybe it wouldn't be so dreary....we need to ice skate close to home....participate in winter sports....West Orange rink is too far...we need to get off our backsides, watching TV and move before we're all obese!!

I agree. That would be great, and I'd be willing to pay the town for the experience.
