Sleet, Snow Could Cause Slippery Evening Commute

A winter weather advisory for Maplewood and the rest of Essex could cause hazardous travel on Monday, National Weather Service says.

 

The National Weather Service is saying the current sleet and snow could cause a hazardous commute on Monday evening. 

winter weather advisory is in effect for Western Essex on Monday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Snow and sleet is predicted during the day Monday with an accumulations of up to an inch.

In the afternoon, the weather precipitation will change to freezing rain and sleet during rush hour.

Other areas in weather advisory include eastern and western Passaic county, eastern and western Bergen county and eastern and western Essex county.
