The Boutique Experience for All: Meet Kathy

Turnover Sale veteran discusses her experiences with the annual event.

For many Turnover shoppers, the ladies clothing boutique department is a must-see.  Behind the desk and on the floor, you'll find Kathy. Kathy is a sale veteran who dedicates days each summer to displaying items attractively in boutique.

How long have you volunteered at the Turnover Sale?

About 22 years.

What keeps you coming back?
It's fun, and I have a lot of experience now.  I enjoy the teamwork and getting to know the clientele.  Besides, when we unpack the donations, every bag is a surprise.

You work in boutique. What is unique about that department?

We try very hard to offer our customers a true boutique experience. Every year we have at least one wedding dress donated and it's fun to display that attractively.

What do customers come looking for?

We have many customers who come back each summer.  They look for career clothes, special occasion and many have the fun of occasional impulse buying.

What's your advice for the first-time Turnover shopper?

Consult the map on the flyer and choose which departments to visit first.

Remember that all money earned is for charity and the workers are volunteers. We do our best!
