Introductory Lecture: J.S. Bach: The Well-Tempered Clavier 2
Join the Ethical Culture Society of Essex County and pianist Birgit Matzerath on a listening journey through the magnificent and inspiring music of Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 2, which will be presented in its entirety between February 1st and April 20th 2013. Today's introductory lecture gives historical background of the work, and a guideline to listening to the music.
It will be followed by 6 mini-recitals every other Sunday morning at 10:15, beginning February 3rd, and concluded with a recital featuring the entire work on Saturday, April 20th.

The duration of the mini-recitals on Sunday mornings is approximately 30 minutes.
We encourage you to listen to at least one piece of your choice every day in between the sessions. A link to the recording and a possibility to share experience will be available.
All events will take place at the Ethical Culture Society of Essex County, 516 Prospect Street, Maplewood, NJ 07040.
All events are open to the public. Admission free, donations welcome. Proceeds to benefit Ethical Culture Society and Maplewood Public Library
