Tina Kelley: Author Talk and Book Signing

Tina Kelley’s latest book is ALMOST HOME: Helping Kids Move from Homelessness to Hope. "With narrative precision and journalistic detail, the heartbreaking trajectory from abandonment and abuse to teen homelessness is laid bare in this book by Covenant House president Ryan and staff member Tina Kelley, a former New York Times reporter. …The compassionately told stories of survival are almost miraculous."—Publisher’s Weekly

Tina was a reporter at The New York Times for 10 years, where she wrote 121 “Portraits of Grief,” short descriptions of the victims of 9/11. She also wrote many stories involving powerless or voiceless people, or those whose struggles went against the grain of popular opinion. Her writing has appeared in numerous newspapers and periodicals. She has also written two books of poems.
