On Sunday, December 8 head to the Durand-Hedden House with your family from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. for a fun, old-fashioned prelude to the holidays. There will be vintage decorations to see and a captivating display of inventive entries to the 2013 Durand-Hedden Gingerbread House Competition to explore. (Interested in being a contestant? Out in
the carriage house the Country Store will open up its coffers for a “super
discounted sale” of historic- themed treasures:
early American children’s games and toys, facsimile documents, quill
pens and ink, historic cook books, cookie molds, tin lanterns, hand blown blue
birds, reproductive decorative items and ceramics, and more. The hard- to-find
original Doors of Maplewood poster
and Smile, the history of Olympic
Park, will also be available. No need to go to the mall! Find inexpensive, unique gifts for family,
friends, teachers while benefiting the Durand-Hedden House.
