Community Corner

Maplewood Community Band Seeking Members!

Did you play in your high school band and want to get that great feeling back?  Then we're the band for you!

Join us at our rehearsal tonight or or anytime.

Rehearsal Information
2nd and 4th Wednesdays (September - July)
7:30 - 9:30 p.m. (please arrive at 7:15 to warm-up, obtain new music, etc.)
No auditions!  Just show up!

Who are we?
The Maplewood Community Concert Band is made up of volunteer musicians of all ages and skill levels, from many towns and from all walks of life. The common thread is they all share a passion for music -- love to play
and love to perform.

Our musicians are active and retired teachers, attorneys, stay-at-home parents, engineers, office workers, high school/college students, pro/semi-pro musicians who just want to play more and more!

Our performance repertoire  includes arrangements of classical and contemporary music, medleys, overtures, marches, seasonal music, children's music and more.

Who can join?
We welcome all woodwind, brass and percussion musicians of all ages regardless of skill level; however, high school level experience is recommended.

Out of practice?
Many of our musicians have returned to playing after a long absence from playing their instrument.  Has it been a while since you got that old band instrument out of the closet?  Some of our members hadn't played in 25 years or more!  Don’t worry, we know how to "get your skills back".

Want to perform community service?
Our musicians not only enrich their own lives, but also the lives of everyone in our communities.  Our organization exists to provide free concerts for all, support music-related community and youth enrichment programs and continue the centuries-old tradition of the community band. We are proud to contribute directly to the arts and culture of
Maplewood and its surrounding communities and to support the amateur musicians throughout the area in continuing their love of playing.

Still not sure?
Stop by and sit in on a rehearsal or just have a listen.
