Maplewood Garden Club Begins New Lecture Series

Maplewood Garden Club
Begins Its New Season with Talk on Spring Flowering Bulbs

One of the early signs of spring is the beautiful flowers that
spring up from bulbs that were planted the previous fall. Crocus, Daffodils,
Tulips, Allium, Grape Hyacinth, Iris and many others start the garden season
off with bursts of color after the long dark months of winter.  There is a wealth of plants to choose from and
on Monday, September 9th, the Maplewood Garden Club will open its 2013-2014
lecture series with Julianne Frascinella, Lead Horticulturist at Reeves-Reed
Arboretum. Ms. Frascinella will share her expertise and present a program about
spring-flowering bulbs, including heirloom varieties, deer- and critter-proof
selections, practical tips on what, when, where and how, as well as tools,
planting techniques and much more.

Come find out more about
how to choose, plant and care for spring flowering bulbs, Monday, September 9, 7:30 PM at the Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker St., Maplewood, NJ. The meeting is open to the public,
admission is free and refreshments (often home made!) are
served.
