Maplewood/South Orange/Millburn Hunger CROP Walk

Members of local area
churches in Maplewood, South Orange, and Millburn will take part in a CROP Walk
for Hunger in Maplewood Memorial Park on Sunday, November 3. Residents from the
local community are also invited to join in the walk. The CROP Program
(Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty) was created by Church World
Service to support its hunger and poverty relief efforts in 80 countries,
including the United States. These funds provide disaster relief as well as aid
for refugees, resources to build wells, schools, and health clinics, clean
drinking water, and seeds to grow crops.

With the current state
of the economy, the food assistance needs in our local area will continue to
increase, as they continue to increase internationally. To help with local food
relief efforts, 25 percent of funds raised at the walk are allocated to fund
huger-fighting efforts in the local community.

All are welcome to join
in the walk. Registration is at 12:30 at Maplewood Memorial Park (across from
Town Hall). The walk will begin at 1:00, and the route of the walk will be
around Memorial Park. For more information or to obtain a sponsor sheet,
contact Martha Gardner at mgardner25@comcast.net
or Anna Nelson at annanelson103@yahoo.com
or 973-378-3136. Donations can be made
online by locating the Maplewood/South Orange/Millburn Crop Walk at www.cropwalkonline.org. Help with efforts to end hunger, one step at a
time, by making a donation and/or joining in the walk
