The Plainfield Symphony celebrates the start of the holiday season on Saturday December 7, with an exciting evening of music by American composer, songwriter and jazz pianist, Cy Coleman (1929-2004). Coleman is a famed Tony Award winning Broadway composer with such hit shows as

Wildcat starring Lucille Ball, Sweet Charity starring Gwen Vernon and City of Angels, to name a few. You will be treated to such tunes as "Witchcraft", "Hey Big Spender", "If They Could See Me Now" and "Hey Look Me Over", to name a few.

We are delighted to feature two talented Broadway stars – Gregg Edelman and Emily Skinner. Gregg Edelman, nominated for several prestigious musical wards, called "Show Stopping…Charismatic" in the NY Times. Emily Skinner is an American musical theatre actress and singer described as "a dynamic Broadway powerhouse" by the Star Ledger. She has played leading roles in such Broadway shows as

Side Show, James Joyce's The Dead, The Full Monty" and Billy Elliot.
