Community Corner

Pumpkin Patch 2013

A tractor-trailer load of pumpkins will transform the front lawn of Wyoming Presbyterian Church into a sea of orange on Saturday, Oct. 12, to kick off the annual Pumpkin Patch sale.

Volunteers will unload the truck starting at 9 a.m. on the corner of Wyoming Avenue and Linden Street. Pumpkins of all sizes, decorative gourds and other fall decorations will be for sale throughout the month, seven days a week.

The pumpkins travel all the way from a Navajo Reservation in New Mexico, where they are grown by Pumpkin Patch USA.  A portion of the proceeds go to the tribe.  The remaining money raised this year will go the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless and Living Waters for the World, a Presbyterian Church (USA) mission project to provide sustainable clean drinking water throughout the world.  Last year, proceeds were donated to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey.
