Summer Art Workshop - Pablo Picasso Week - July 7 - July 11

Springfield Avenue in Maplewood offers a Summer Art Workshop program for children
ages 5-12.  Participants will experiment
with a variety of media in a fun and supportive environment.  Attendees are encouraged to use their
imagination freely as they learn about Master Artists.  The Summer Workshop runs June 23 – August 29.

Workshop attendees will create 10-15 art projects
per week.  The projects will be inspired
by a different Master Artist.   The 2014
10-week schedule includes the following artists:  Piet Mondrian, Victor Vasarely, Pablo
Picasso, Cartooning, Wassilly Kandinsky, Robert Rauschenberg, Carlos Merida, Sculpture,
Henri Matisse and Paul Cezanne.

Children will learn about the Artists through
discussions, examples, and art-making. Projects will include painting, drawing,
mixed media collage and sculpture (relative to the artists).  An exhibition and reception featuring
students' artwork will be held at the conclusion of each week.

The Workshop fee is $200 per week or $175 per week
if registering multiple weeks or children. 
Daily drop-in is $50 a day or $45 if registering 2+ days or multiple
children.  Children ages 5-8 meet 9am -
12pm.  Children ages 9-12 meet 1:30pm -

Express Yourself Studios is an art studio and art
gallery dedicated to being an outlet for children and adults to express
themselves creatively via classes in the arts. 
As well as a space where artist are welcome to display their work and
create utilizing the studio’s space, tools and tables.  The Studio also offers a Summer Art Workshop, an Artist-in-Residency Program and
