The Deliciousness of Weeds

Tama Matsuoka Wong is a professional forager, weed eater,
meadow doctor, lawyer and mother of three. She supplies wild edible plants to
top restaurants in the New York and Philadelphia areas, such as Restaurant
Daniel, Gramercy Tavern, ACME, and others, and her field guide and cookbook,
Foraged Flavor, was a James Beard Foundation award nominee. After graduating
from Harvard Law School and serving for more than 25 years as a financial
services lawyer, she returned to NJ and rediscovered her passion for the
natural world. Tama launched Meadows and More to connect experts in the field
of meadow restoration, botany and wildlife. In 2007 the NJ Forest Service named
her Steward of the Year.

Find
out about the edibles around us Monday, December 2, 7:30 PM at the
Maplewood Memorial Library, 51 Baker St., Maplewood, NJ. The meeting is open to
the public, admission is free and refreshments (often home made!) are served.
