Premiere Work at next Society of Musical Arts Concert: The Society of Musical Arts presents a free
concert “Invitation to Dance” at St. George’s Episcopal Church, 550 Ridgewood
Road, Maplewood, 4 pm, Sunday, October 20, 2013. The concert marks the world premiere of
Roberto Sierra’s “Montuno." Sierra and Stephen Culbertson (conductor) will
discuss the work after the concert.
The
“Invitation to Dance” theme will feature a variety of orchestral works called
“dance” by their composers. The concert will also honor the memory of Zita Friedland, recently deceased board member with the Society of Musical Arts.
