Garbage and Recycling: Dates You Need to Know
Some important dates are coming up for Maplewoodians.
Eric Burbank, Director of Public Works in Maplewood, gave a presentation at Monday night's meeting of the inaugural Maplewood Community Action Program (MCAP) at the Maplewood Memorial Library. (Patch will report on the meeting in a separate article.)

Electronics Recycling in Maplewood - May 4
From 8 a.m. to noon at the Maplewood Recycling Center, 359 Boyden Avenue, 973-762-1175. For Maplewood or South Orange residents. For information on electronics recycling, check the township website recycling page.

Essex County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day - May 4
From 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Essex County Fleet Maintenance Garage, 99 West Bradford Ave. Cedar Grove NJ. For more information, call 973-792-9060 or go to www.ecuanj.com
Bulk Drop off Day – May 11
From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Maplewood Recycling Center, 359 Boyden Avenue, 973-762-1175. Maplewood residents only.
Essex County Electronics Recycling Day – May 18

Also, the DPW is conducting curbside pick up of scrap metal by appointment by calling the DPW at 973-762-1175.
Finally, remember your garbage hauler will pick up four bulk items each month -- for no extra charge (it's already included in the garbage service). Call your hauler to schedule a pick up (Waste Management and Waste Industries)
