Springfield Avenue Welcomes The Little Department Store

The Little Department Store held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 9.

The Springfield Avenue Partnership announced the opening of The Little Department Store, a new clothing retailer at 1857 Springfield Avenue, near the intersection of Princeton Street and marked the occasion with ribbon cutting this past Saturday, Nov. 9th.

The Little Department Store carries all categories of clothing and accessories, from basic jeans to shirts, sweaters, hats, all very fashion-forward. 

“We want people to know that The Little Department Store is going to provide great quality clothes at affordable price points,” owner Ameen Albany said. “We have received a great response right off the bat, having been open just about a month.”

On hand to help cut the ceremonial ribbon were Village Township Administrator Joseph Manning, Annette DePalma, Maplewood Director of Community Affairs, Rene Conlon from the Chamber of Commerce, Julie Doran and Deb Yohannan from the Springfield Avenue Partnership and neighboring merchants Sean Walker from Incpics Photography Studio and Jane Witkin owner of Verjus Restaurant and member of the Partnership’s Board of Trustees.
