New to the Neighborhood... presented by H. L. Boisrond

Greetings,

My name is H. L. Boisrond. I am an American Author and Illustrator specializing in fantasy fiction. But, I guess I should now add blogger to the description. ;) As a native New Jerseyan, I plan to pull from my wheelhouse to bring you interesting literature and art-driven information about Maplewood and the surrounding areas. 

My NJ credentials you ask? Great question! I was born here, raised in West Orange, educated in Montclair, lived in South Orange, Rockaway, Bloomfield, South Jersey, Florham Park, etcetera, etcetera. Even after moving to the West Coast, I returned to the Garden State and where did I land? Maplewood.

Clearly, I have experienced a broad range of NJ life and all of the wonderful things it has to offer. Although many preposterous stereotypes have become commonly used, such as: "New Jersey is nothing but highways," "New Jersey is full of landfills and swamps," "There are no gardens in the Garden State," rest assured that anyone who actually lives in New Jersey and drives outside of a single neighborhood, would see how easily these stereotypes can be discredited. I find that it is better to embrace the many pleasantries of this fine state, including the wonderful diverseness of a number of its communities, like Maplewood.

Now that introductions are out of the way, it is my hope that this blog will serve as a boundless channel to celebrate Art, Literature and the local artists keeping the Humanities alive. I realize there are a multitude of blogs you could be reading right now, so I sincerely thank you for choosing to spend your time reading mine. Have a wonderful day and don't forget to read!
