Red Light to Global Warming
What little things can we do to protect our environment. How can we see the connection between our our actions and their consequences? Let's compile a list.
It is January 2013, in Essex New Jersey and I sit on a patio with a light jacket. It is fifty degrees and sunny. Thoughts of "global warming" float by and I am conflicted as I adjust to the winter sunshine. Last fall there was a massive hurricane and flooding, summer weather doesn't seem to arrive until September, and I don't know what to expect every spring.
I see recycling bins a lot, reusable coffee mugs, lighter cars, solar panels, waterless bathroom systems, more cycling, and more walking. I also walk more, recycle more, eat less meat and fish, tend perennials, waste less, shop local, and conserve water. Everyone is doing so much, nevertheless, the storms keep coming and the weather patterns get stranger. Are we heading in the right direction? What other ideas can we share to continue in the right direction? Please share any ideas you have so that we can continue in the right direction.
