Ulysses Grant Dietz is a Maplewood treasure for many reasons.
First, he is senior curator at the Newark Museum
Second, he is the great-great grandson of Ulysses S. Grant, 18th President of the United States.
Finally, he is an indefatigable campaigner for civil rights, including marriage equality. Dietz recounts his own personal experience with a civil union in his latest blog for the Star-Ledger arguing for the freedom to marry for same-sex couples. Read it here.
