Police Report Armed Robbery on Irvington Avenue

Newark woman is reportedly robbed by man wearing ski mask.

 

A man wearing a ski mask and brandishing a handgun reportedly robbed a 20-year-old Newark woman on Irvington Avenue last week, according to Maplewood Police.

The man approached the woman, who was walking in the area of 664 Irvington Ave. where Maplewood borders Newark, on Nov. 7 at 10:15 p.m., and took her iPhone, said Capt. John Perna. The woman reported the robbery to Newark Police, who informed the Maplewood Police Department the next day.

The man then crossed the street and was seen entering a black Cadillac Escalade which then drove into Newark, according to police.

The incident remains under investigation.
