Cell Phones Stolen at High School Football Game

Incident occurred at Underhill Field.

 

Two cheerleaders reported that cell phones were stolen from their handbags during last week's varsity football game at Underhill Field, said the Maplewood Police.

Det. Lt. Michael Marucci said he believed this was the first time cell phones were reported stolen at a school sporting event. The case is being investigated by the Maplewood Police Department's Youth Aid Bureau, which handles all juvenile incidents that occur in Maplewood.

Marucci said the department in contact with administrators at the high school. The school also is conducting its own, separate investigation.

"Kids leak what happens," said Marucci, "it gets around."
