Irvington Ave Closed For Emergency Work, Police Say

Emergency work shut down a portion of Irvington Avenue from Coolidge to Essex, police said.

Irvington Avenue between Coolidge Road and Essex Avenue are closed due to emergency work, Maplewood Police announced.

Maplewood Police issued the notice in an email around 2:40 p.m. Tuesday.

"There is a gas leak at a private residence and the equipment taking over roadway," police said, adding that PSE&G is on the scene.

Police are urging residents to use an alternate route to avoid delays.
