Irvington Man Punched and Robbed in Maplewood

Maplewood Police are looking to an incident in which a man was punched in the face before his cell phone was stolen by a group of teenagers.

An Irvington man was robbed while walking in Maplewood Township on Sept. 11, according to a police report.

The man, whose name was not released by police, was walking on Springfield Ave. near Quick Chek around 9:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

A group of teenagers approached him, punched him in the face and stole his cell phone, police said. He was not seriously injured.

The group of teens then fled towards Jacoby St., according to the report.
