Maplewood Man Robbed and Beaten on Tuscan Street, Cops Say

Group of men allegedly punch and kick man on his way home from work.

 

A group of men reportedly jumped a 24-year-old Maplewood man as he was walking home from work early Monday morning, beating him and stealing his wallet, said Capt. John Perna.

The incident happened at 12:45 a.m. when the man was approached by a group of 4-5 men on Tuscan Street, said Perna. The men allegedly assaulted him and took his wallet before fleeing on foot, Perna said. The man received abrasions but was not seriously injured, said Perna, and no weapons were reported to have been used.

Maplewood Police detectives are actively investigating the incident, said Perna.
