Maplewood Police Invesigate Thanksgiving Weekend Burglaries

Police look into Thanksgiving weekend home and car burglaries.

The Maplewood Police Department are looking into several burglaries over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend, according to a police report.

On Wednesday, Nov, 27, a Jacoby St. resident flagged down an officer and reported that he had seen a man inside of his home. When he was spotted, prior to police being notified, the man fled towards Boyden Ave. The home owner told police that the house had been unlocked while he was inside.

On Thanksgiving day, Thursday, Nov. 28, a home on Lexington Ave. was reported to have damage to the front door but police do not believe that entry was made to the home, police said.

Also on Thanksgiving Day, an older model of a Nissan Maxima was stolen from a home on Hilton Ave around 12:15 p.m., police said.

On Sunday, Dec. 1, a resident returned home to find that their Menzel Ave. home was broken into and jewlely and other valuable items were missing. Police believe the home was entered a few days prior, according to the report.

All incidents are currently under investigation by the Maplewood Detective Bureau.

Maybe if the cops stopped racial profiling and conducted their investigation without assuming someone is guilty or "suspicious" based on skin color or style of dress more criminals would be apprehended!
