Maplewood Police Investigate Robberies

Maplewood police are looking into several burglaries and robberies from last week.

Maplewood Police are investigating several robberies and burglaries which occurred between Monday, Nov. 11 and Sunday, Nov. 17, according to a police report.

A man and woman were robbed while walking on Springfield Ave. around 7:45 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 11. police said. Two men approached them on foot and demanded their iPhones before getting into the passenger side of a stolen Dodge Caravan. The van then fled East on Springfield Ave.

Two homes were burglarized on Tuesday, Nov. 12 on Prospect St. and Mountainview Ter. Electronics and jewelry were taken from the home on Prospect between 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Entry was not gained to the home on Mountainview but there was damage to the front door.

On Friday, Nov. 15, a woman was carrying her groceries into her home on Woodside Road when two men approached and tried to steal her purse. They were unsuccessful and fled East on Woodside Road.
