Phillipsburg Man Arrested After Maplewood Home Burglary

Justin Sokoloski, 29, of Phillipsburg was charged with paraphernalia and burglary.

A Phillipsburg man was arrested on Monday, Oct. 21, after police discovered he was in possession of electronics stolen from a Maplewood home.

Officers were called to a Park Ave. home after a resident reported the alarm was going off around 9:30 a.m. The resident also provided police with a description of a suspicious person.

When police arrived, the front door was unlocked and several items were missing from the home.

Officer Brian Rodrigues soon after spotted a man fitting the suspect's description on Springfield Ave.

When police stopped the man for questioning and identified him as Justin Sokoloski, 29, of Phillipsburg. Police found he had electronics from the home as well as Controlled Dangerous Substance paraphernalia, according to a police report.

He also had multiple warrants out for his arrest, police said.

He was taken into custody and charged with the paraphernalia and burglary. Before being taken to the county jail.
