Mother and Son Hit by Car on Boyden Avenue

A 32-year-old Maplewood woman and her six-year-old son walking on Boyden Avenue and Parker Avenue were struck by a car on Wednesday evening, according to Maplewood Police Captain John Perna. Neither was seriously injured.

The Maplewood Township Committee recently adopted a resolution recommending the state Board of Public Utilities (BPU) and the state Legislature conduct an investigation into how PSE&G responds to extreme power outages.

 

Maplewood Police Officer Injured in Car Accident

A Maplewood police officer suffered a head injury following a two-car accident on Springfield Avenue over the weekend, according to Capt. John Perna.

The officer, Justin Moen, was making a left turn into the Police and Courts Building shortly before 11 p.m. Saturday when his car struck another vehicle headed in the opposite direction, said Perna. 

 

Maplewood Launches Business Recruitment Campaign

The township launched a new initiative the township to fill what elected officials see as a vast, unmet retail demand, while taking a proactive approach to shape the business landscape for decades to come. The plan was unveiled at a breakfast gathering of the local business and real estate community on Monday.

 

Woman Arrested for DWI in Maplewood

A 25-year-old Edison Township woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated last weekend after her car damaged a park bench and tree on Springfield Avenue, according to Maplewood Police Capt. John Perna.
