The work of the Maplewood Democratic Committee is performed by 2 district leaders from each of the 21 voting districts in Maplewood. The 42 District Leaders are involved in choosing the endorsed candidates of the committee, and campaigning on behalf of all Democratic candidates, from candidates for Township Committee, to the President.

This year presents an unusual opportunity for anyone interested in becoming more involved in the Democratic Party and political life in general. There are some district leader seats that will be vacated in June of this year, and new district leaders will be needed in this presidential election year.

All district leader candidates will appear on the ballot along with the Committee’s endorsed candidates for Township Committee and President Obama in the June 5 Primary.

If you have ever been interested in being involved in local politics, and serving as a Democratic Party District Leader, please contact Ian Grodman, Chair of the Maplewood Democratic Party, by March 15. Please email igrodman@vag-grodman.com.
