The Board of Education unanimously approved the hiring of  to replace Angelica Allen as principal of the K - grade 2 school. Samuels is currently Assistant Principal at South Mountain School.

 

Montrose School Will Reopen For Special Education Students

The South Orange - Maplewood Board of Education announced that The Montrose School will reopen in 2013 as a school for special education students. 

 

Cops Arrest Seton Hall Students for Drugs

South Orange police confiscated 45 bags of marijuana, related drug paraphernalia, and a pair of brass knuckles from a Seton Hall dorm room on Wednesday night. Police arrested Russell Bailey, 20, and Darrell Barnes, 19, both Seton Hall students.

 

NJ Transit Removes Maplewood Parakeet Nest

A New Jersey Transit (NJT) spokesperson confirmed that the agency removed a nest of monk parakeets from the overhead wires at the Maplewood train station last week because the nest was a fire hazard.
