Planning Board to Hold Final Review of Post Office Plan

Public meeting to discuss the plan, which will be up for a final vote on July 16.

The Maplewood Planning Board will review the redevelopment plan for the Post Office site Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Town Hall, before the plan is put to a final vote on July 16.

The meeting is open to the public and the public is invited to comment.

At its last meeting, the Maplewood Township Committee (TC) voted 5-0 to introduce an ordinance adopting the plan. The TC will cast the final vote on the plan after a public hearing at its July 16 meeting at the Police and Courts Building at 1618 Springfield Avenue.

The plan calls for a mixed-use building with retail on the ground floor and apartments above.

The ordinance can be found in this link to the meeting's agenda. The entire plan can be found on the Township website. Renderings, created by members of Engage-Maplewood, of what a potential building might look like are attached to this article.
