Maplewood to Hold Meeting on Post Office Redevelopment

Township will host third community meeting to discuss future of the site.

The township will host the third community meeting on the future of the Maplewood Post Office site on Thursday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. at Maplewood Town Hall.

In 2010, the U.S. Post Office was notified by the Township of Maplewood that its lease would be ending in 2013 and would not be renewed (the town owns the land). Additionally, the Town declared the property as an area in need of rehabilitation in July 2011.

Mayor Vic DeLuca and Township Committee members have discussed different possibilities for developing the site. Currently, Kings Market has said it is interested in potentially moving into the space from its current location across the street.

In addition to town representatives, Paul Grygiel of the planning firm Phillips Preiss Grygiel, which is working with the township, will attend the meeting.
