New Recycling Schedule Starts Town-wide May 7
Curbside pickup will happen every other week, instead of just twice a month — adding two collections per year.

Starting May 7, Maplewood residents will begin experiencing more frequent curbside recycling pickup.
Previously, pickups took place twice a month — twice a year leaving residents with a three week gap in pickup and piles of recycling in their basements, garages or back yards.

Now, the entire town will receive curbside recycling every other Monday, starting May 7. The town will no longer be divided into sections for curbside recycling.
That means 26 recycling pickups per year instead of 24.

Department of Public Works Director Eric Burbank said that the town negotiated the increased service with the vendors at no additional cost to the town.
Burbank said that all rules and regulations remain the same.

Collection dates for 2012 are:
May 7 and 21
June 4 and 18
July 2, 16 and 30
August 13 and 27
September 10 and 24
October 8 and 22
November 5 and 19
December 3, 17 and 31
