The program began with a performance by the CHS Graduation Ensemble and was followed by a welcome from CHS Principal Dr. Lovie Lilly. “This is a major milestone in your life,” said Lilly. “We’ll remember you and we hope you remember your teachers. Your futures are beckoning you and I’m extremely proud of you.”

President of the Student Council Asia Marche told graduates it was their time to “show the world what we have to offer. We are all embarking on a brand new path. Maximize the day, be the Picasso of your canvas.”

David Carliner, President of the Class of 2013, said graduates will not always be able to control where life takes them and what the future holds. Jenna Burniston and Niveline Jean-Louis Charles both gave heartfelt "Senior Reflections."

“Whatever you do next, learn as much as you can,” said Superintendent Brian Osborne. "Conquer your fear of the future through risk-taking action. The world is in your hands; make the most of it.”

The TV Students screened a special senior video retrospective, and the CHS Senior Choir, led by Jamie Bunce, sang.

Director of Guidance Dr. Jennifer Giordano introduced the students as they stepped to the podium to receive their diplomas, conferred by members of the Board of Education.
