Cougar All-Stars Hope for a Rebound Against Harlem Wizards

Come see the rematch of the year, at MMS on Friday.

The Cougar All-Stars might have fallen to the Harlem Wizards last year, but the hometown team has a chance for redemption this Friday.

Last year, after a valiant effort, the local boys and girls lost 73-66 before a sell-out crowd of 1,000 at Maplewood Middle School. Six wizards faced rotations made up of Maplewood and South Orange elected officials, Columbia High School basketball players, and local teachers from Maplewood Middle and other schools.

Concessions at the game will be available from Roman Gourmet.

As Patch reported last year, "The Wizards had their fun, pulling gags and performing some fancy passing and dunks, but the home team came prepared to play. South Mountain Elementary physical education teachers Mr. K (Jeff Kaessheafer) and Mr. Tait, for example, showed some impressive moves."

Come to cheer on the Cougars!
