Early Dismissal for Ridgewood, Glen Rock Students on Friday

"Nemo" could drop as much as two feet of snow in the upcoming days.

A winter storm expected to make landfall early Friday morning has prompted administrators in Ridgewood and Glen Rock to dismiss students early on Friday.

Borough schools will all open at normal times, according to a notification on the GRPS website. The middle and high school will dismiss students at 12:26 p.m. Elementary schools will let out at 12:33 p.m. All other activities, including childcare, will be canceled for the remainder of the day.

In the village, high School students depart at 12:18 p.m. Kindergarten through fifth-grade students let out at 12:45 p.m. and middle school students will let out at 12:15 p.m. Lunch will not be provided for.

The blizzard, dubbed "Nemo", is expected to dump significant snowfall on the area from Thursday night through Saturday morning. Projections for the possible blizzard range from six inches to two feet of powder.

a bit of sensationalism, 2 feet of snow? Maybe if you were in New England

No, you are wrong, Kevin. There were a few models that projected more than 24 inches of snow in the area.

There are hundreds of models, of course you discount the outliers, but if you think two feet is a good estimate for Ridgewood, so be it. Just so you know I did not hear one LOCAL broadcast forcasting we would have more than a foot
