Elementary PTA Donates $1,500 to CHS Scholarship Fund

The CHSSF awarded more than $103,000 in needs-based scholarships in June to 94 seniors and graduates of Columbia High School.

The Clinton Elementary School PTA donated $1,500 to the Columbia High School Scholarship Fund last spring, creating the first CHSSF scholarship named for a local PTA.

This fall, the South Mountain School PTA also donated $1,500 to the fund.

“The generosity of these local PTAs will make it possible for the CHSSF to assist more Columbia High School graduates as they pursue higher education degrees,” members said.

The CHSSF awarded more than $103,000 in needs-based scholarships in June to 94 seniors and graduates of Columbia High School. The local PTAs viewed their scholarship donations as a way to support our district’s students beyond their elementary school years.

“It is the Clinton PTA’s belief that the foundation for a strong educational future begins in elementary school and it is our mission to help support that future,” said Keli Tianga, last year’s Clinton PTA President. “Our donation to the Columbia High School Scholarship Fund is a great way to do that.”
