Staring September 2012 Study Skills Workshop @ Elite Tutoring

Elite Tutoring Center will be starting a new program in September for gifted students whose grades are diminishing. We found that decline in grades are a result of poor study skills and over confidence. Gifted students can survive on their memories for most of their elementary grade level. Eventually, memories alone will not be enough for them to maintain academic success.

Elite Tutoring has noticed this trend among several students who have visited our center. After administrating our placement test, we discover that many of the students did not require tutoring, but refining on their study skills. After six sessions, the students were back on the honor roll.
Elite Tutoring will be running three weeks study skills workshop for the following subjects: Math, Science, and Social Studies. Using their class text, students will be taught how to outline chapters. In addition students will learn organizational skills, note taking strategies that will help them to store information to their long term memories.
